I truly believe Are You Ready on CTC, while not necessarily an "upgrade" over the live version, works better with the Bernie arrangement as a studio track. That live arrangement is pretty damn sparse, which works with an audience present, but I don't know how that would have translated in studio.

That said, if there was a soundboard of Hofstra 84, I could lay to rest many of my CTC "what ifs". The Are You Ready from that show is absolute heat. One of those 84 shows where Joe's 84/85 manic-ness actually works ("wrong number!).

Also Joe, it's one of the infamous "Joe's white sport coat" shows, so he must have looked a little nuts up there 😂

He was carping on about Duran Duran at the time but was basically morphing into Simon Le Bon.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

The cosmic background radiation on Fingerpoppin' is quite ambiently comforting.
The whole thing puts me in mind of a serial killer talking to me while I'm down in the pit.

I still need to do my Jericho cover. Never got past the intro. It'll probably be a few years out, realistically.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

EET Week is like Alumni Week! If Gene has put in an appearance—hello, generalisimo!—maybe Ratty will emerge from his bunker.

Sometimes you gotta research the phenomenon of neo-provincialism in self-isolating online communities.
