Re: Save the Date: EET Week 2021

We're out of town for a wedding this weekend, but if I find myself with Wi-Fi access I might drop in if I can. We'll be in middle of nowhere Wisconsin , however...so I'm not getting my hopes up. Please, sir, redundancy is not a virtue. There is Milwaukee and then there is everywhere else. We in Mil...

I’ll be honest: this is my anniversary weekend. Probably not gonna make it.
Bring along the wife!
Unfortunately, she has dignity.
If she married you, then I'm not so certain.
I’m an affront to same.

Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread

Again not a metal head but this list is pretty crap. https://blog.usejournal.com/top-15-heavy-metal-songs-of-all-time-f06a3bb820fc There are some good bands on there, but it’s almost never their best songs*. And there’s no reason on Satan’s black earth for Stryper (or any other Christian “metal” ba...

Did I not respond here before? Suffice to say, I'm better thru having you as a mate. Hope you have a brilliant coming year. and you're significantly worse for knowing the rest of us, thus preserving balance in the universe. If anything, it’s a feedback loop where we’re all getting exponentially wor...

Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread

Yeah I dont consider Ministry, NIN and Suicidal Tendencies as metal. I only own the first ST album which I would classify as hardcore. i think both ministry and nin are considers industrial metal in the popular imagination. ST is interesting in that they're claimed by both metal and punk camps, the...

Re: A Bunch of Fives (New Challenge Thread)

No numbers this time. Duran Duran, “Invisible” What no camera sound? Camera sounds are to DD and J Giles what mentioning Boston is for the Dropkick Murphys. This was never supposed to work for me. Unlike most of you I dont think it sounds "modern" at all. Sounds more...80s to me, bad 80s. Tirzah, “...

Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread

Saying GNR were the new Crue, but not having MC in the list is curious as fuck. Not that I like them, but every hesher in my school loved them in the their heyday. I still don't think metalheads are legally allowed to acknowledge glam or hair metal. I didn't even realize VH could be considered meta...

Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread

Anyway, most of those bands are godawful and several of the ones that aren’t are only tenuously metal.

Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread

Im far from a metal head but damn were this list to be accurate what an indictment of the overall lack of substance of American metal. What list? An excellent question. In all honesty, despite my rep on here, I don’t care for that many American metal acts overall other than ones on the extreme frin...
