I'm going to apply Hestonlogic™ here and say that because the Clash didn't get as many votes as expected, they lose to the Specials.
Thanks for playing, folks. If someone wants to do this for another year, please be my guest. If y'all want me to run the zoo, I can do that, too.

Congratulations to the true winner of this poll: Bill Nelson, in a surprising upset.

Also, thanks to Doc for being willing to go through the IMCT poll blender once more. I support the choice to include LC in the poll - it's never bad to reaffirm that we do, actually, like the Clash around here.
I had hoped that most of the albums I'd wanted to make arguments for hadn't gotten immediately wiped out and largely bounced me from having any particularly passionate horses in the race to advocate for and talk about, but it's always an interesting exercise to see where the collective will goes in these polls.

Yep I've seen it and I'm tempted. But then I'm equally tempted by all the beautiful Bep Bop Deluxe deluxe sets. Expensive but brilliantly put together.Kory wrote: ↑28 May 2021, 4:29pmSpeaking of which, this exciting new product was just announced: https://www.cherryred.co.uk/product/be- ... n-box-set/

I sincerely believed Wire and PiL would make the survivor round of ten. The tolerance for the anti-rock side of post-punk is much lower than I thought.

Thanks to Doc for the poll, it has been fun. Looking forward to 1980, I hope someone picks up the baton. But Doc is really good at doing these, I like his firm hand.

Re: Greatest Album of 1979 - Elimination Round 9 - The Final
Thank you to Doc for taking the time to run these polls, it's been a lot of fun, some interesting discussions. Like someone else suggested, a "Greatest Album of 1978" might be fun sometime down the road, a lot of great releases to go through.

Hello,
I'd like to add my thanks to Doc as well. The time and effort alone (beyond the squabbles) are more than most would tolerate.

- Here's a fun thing I'm arranging!
You asshole, this has been completely mismanaged.
I hope going forward we can avoid that cycle.
