Could be wrong, but I think it means they were promoting/sponsoring the show rather than broadcasting it -- unfortunately!

I did think of that possibility - and let's face it, surely a decent off-air recording would have been booted by now - but I like clutching at straws!

Billboard reviews S! (28-February-1981) - a pretty good review of the album although the author completely misses the point about indie labels.
