Friday Poll Thread #7 - Best Power of Love

Post by BitterTom »

3 classics. Same name. We need to find out which is banger, which is mash.

Contender #1 - Frankie Goes to Hollywood. A fine effort, atmospheric, powerful, emotional. The right ingredients make the perfect cake.

Contender #2 - Jennifer Rush. Who can honestly say they don't belt the chorus out when this makes an appearance? A cracking number and possibly gets my vote, I'll do all that I can.

Contender #3 - Huey Lewis and The News. Actually this one is shit.

Looks like I'm the only daft fucker to vote for Huey Lewis. Fun song.

It is objectively the best of the three but I can't disassociate it with Christmas now. Which is a shame because the the lyrics have nothing to do with Christmas.

Yeah that's true it does get lumped in with Christmas. But I love that first line "I'll protect you from the hooded claw, keep the vampires from your door".
