Inspired by revbob, I bought a bag of cherries today. I'm usually pretty averse to buying early in the season because of the higher cost, but, dang, they are the perfect fruit.
I got a cherry tree on my allotment. It's good shit.
As per my earlier comment, you're going to heaven, chief.
Why pay for fruit or vegetables? They just grow.

There is a cherry tree on the grounds of my kid's school. It's within easy walking distance of my house. We watch it closely and then the cherries are ripe - we make frequent visits.

When I was a kid, our next-door neighbour had a couple crab apple trees that spanned over the fence that divided the property. She encouraged us to pick what we could reach because it produced so many (by late summer, the grass would start accumulating rotting crab apples). The only time I can get them now is at farmer's markets, but crabs are still my favourite apples. Tart and tangy beyond belief.

Yes, they are so damn good I need to get more.

Porridge pot for dinner, jacket potato with beans for tea. Taking this health kick seriously.

I came to realise I've never had problems with gluten before so I'm not going to be too concerned about that. Had some lovely gluten last night, no gluten problems so far. Give me the gluten.

Gluten.

Bought some crumpets yesterday, this is a better breakfast. They're like toast's better looking mate.

I was a late latecomer to fried chicken but after 5 pieces, or near enough a whole chicken tonight, it's a firm favourite.

Internalized bias example:

As someone who grew up in the American south, it never even occurred to me until just now that this wouldn’t be a fairly staple food to any non-meat eater.
