And we get grief for Phil Collins! Atrocious song by George Michael.
What do you all think? Is Heston wrong, per usual?
I'm not much of a fan of "Freedom 90" but I think "Faith" is great.
Yeah, Faith is good. Wake Me Up Before You Go Go is fun.
I hate faith but Go Go is poptastic.
I hate Faith as well, some Wham stuff was good and I like "Praying For Time" from George's solo career. What I mainly hate about George Michael is he pronounces some words in this exaggerated style. In Freedom 90 it's that bit when he sings "please don't give uuuurp." Loads of similar instances in Faith.

I liked that and Young Guns. It was downhill all the way after that.

Free-ze Frame, and anything by Bobby Freeman, or Paul Rogers.

1990 kinda sorta doesn't count.

Also, is that the same Soup Dragons that did "Hang Ten!"? That song is great. This Stones cover is awful.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

The Stones version is pretty decent but I thought the Soup Dragons took it to another level. It sounded great in the clubs at the time and I have fond memories of it.

Clearly, the alpha and omega of freedom songs.

Ooh. Does that mean I also get to blame the 90s for all the shitty music from 2000? Then we have a deal.

While the Soup Dragons are no Stones that cover was great fun and I agree it did sound good in the clubs at the time. "Don't be afraid of your freedom!"...
