Sympathies to all my Limey friends (plus Heston :shifty: ), but congratulations on making it to the semis. Take comfort that all those Croatians will end up on war crime at The Hague soon enough.
Well done Croatia. Brave effort from the young lions. Can't see Croatia beating France. Let's see if we can beat Belgium now for 3rd place.

Sick as a fucking chip. Not sure the half time team talk was very inspiring.

Good luck to Croatia, I'd love a new name on the trophy.

I'll chuck my 10p worth in for good measure. I would've played Rashford from the start as Sterling was to greedy to pass. I would've dropped Dele Ali and played Loftus-Cheek.

Yeah, Sterling and Alli never seemed on it in this World Cup. Hopefully Gareth will learn a couple of lessons in the long run.

When it all dies down I will look back and be happy with the semis, though I doubt we will ever get a better chance than this for the forseeable future.

I thanked England for its time and asked Croatia not to kill anyone.

England was one of the few non-underdogs I was rooting for. I guess I'm rooting for Croatia now.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

A world championship with many good teams but no great team. I do not understand why Dier did not play from the beginning.

Seems harsh to criticise Southgate when he did such a great job however!!!
Several players looked very tired from the start including Kane. Once England went 1-0 up it looked like they were trying to hang on for 85 mins however you can’t do that with Lingard and Alli in your midfield as England could get or keep the ball. Should have withdrawn at least one of them (if not both) and shored up midfield with Dier and Loftus-Cheek-Cheek.
Agree Rashford should have started for Sterling.
