There's still a solid greatest hits to be had out of post-Tommy Who imho. No really outrageous deep cuts that I'll front for, but most of the stuff that lands on comps still works for me.

There are so many good Who songs, unfortunately there are an equal number of awful poor pity me middle aged alcoholic songs. Just my opinion. I happen to love almost all of their pre-Tommy songs and then it's hit or miss for me. I do like Pete's demos better than the actual Who versions.
All of that matches my attitude to a T. Completely and totally.
Agreed. Their recording career after 1973 is basically worthless to me.
I want to say that Who by Numbers and Who are You are pretty good but cant explain why, havent listened to either since high school maybe. Neither can compare to the earlier work and the two post Moon studio albums arent much special either.
I have a silly love of "Squeeze Box." It's even better given how arty Pete had become and then deliver his own "My Ding-a-ling."
I do like Squeeze Box, the other shit just got too weighty and serious. "Music Must Change" for fucks sake.

Let me surprise all by agreeing with Flex.

I agree too, about half of the Who's Next/Lifehouse and half of Quadrophenia, but my comp also really includes deep cuts like Waspman, How Many Friends, In a Hand or Face, New Song, Entwistle songs Success Story, 905, The Quiet One, and Pete's solo material Rough Boys, Let My Love, and his version of Save it for Later

Kind of disowned by the band but I really like it.

I was about to say that it was just a throwaway gag song—it's on one of their remainder albums—but I just looked it up and it was a single. Hilarious.

How did this not make Who's Next? Better than anything on the album apart from the obvious "big three".
