Dooo dooo doo doooooooo. I do like her next album, but EIG is a sentimental favorite. And I also don't hear the song for song response. But I love that album!muppet hi fi wrote: ↑31 Jan 2018, 3:17pmWow, a bit of serendipity here as I just played "Guyville' for the first time in years. Love it and Liz, but think her next two were progressively better. And Jenny, I'm guessing you've heard the old trope about 'Guyville' being a song-for-song answer album to 'Main Street'. I personally don't hear it, interesting as the concept may be. But she obviously took a lot from Keef & Woody's crazy guitar tunings to shape her idiosyncratic songwriting style, and the one time I saw her live she did their "Emotional Rescue". What an odd choice (though very "girly" I reckon!).
