Re: The Future of the Democratic Party
CNN asks: Should Democrats turn their backs on Bill Clinton? The answer is clearly yes, duh!
http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/17/politics/ ... index.html
Oh, only about his wiener problem and not, like, obsession with incarceration of black and hispanic people and the abandonment of the working class to the market and continued imperial adventurism. Not to say that his predatory behaviour isn't sufficient—and I don't want to give the impression that it's but a minor faux pas on his part—but his crimes are a lot more vast than just being a sexual predator. Which is more a critique of liberalism than Clinton.

Josh Barro, of all people, made this argument in an article today, I think.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑17 Nov 2017, 7:45pmCNN asks: Should Democrats turn their backs on Bill Clinton? The answer is clearly yes, duh!

That the same group of people who were so threatened by Sanders, the mildest of social democrats, are now simply furious at the whole Vanity Fair thing says a lot about The Future of the Democratic Party. Mostly that it is populated by fucking morons.

I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

There's nothing like showing off your ugliness as if it's something to be proud of.

Could’ve used these arguments in 1776.

I agree with her. There's got to be some Nixon grandchildren ready to be president by now!

Re: The Future of the Democratic Party
I’m excited about Joe Kennedy III giving our rebuttal to Trump’s state of the union. He’s good. Very good. Young...but so what.
I’m all about the future of the party. My mom and dad met as member Young Democrats in the late 60’s.
I might be treading on well tread ground, but as a newer member I need to establish my positions.
I am a working class liberal (even though I have a white color job). My grandfather was a honcho in the machinist union (IAM).
I’m not a save the whales Democrat. I’m a save the jobs Democrat. I want to save the whales, too...don’t get me wrong...but I hate the fact that so many GOP supporters paint us as weak. I fight for myself and my kids. That covers many things: jobs, economic equality and so on.

Let's ban jobs, replace ourselves with robots, and spend all our time painting watercolours and having sex.WestwayKid wrote: ↑28 Jan 2018, 10:13pmI’m excited about Joe Kennedy III giving our rebuttal to Trump’s state of the union. He’s good. Very good. Young...but so what.

Speaking of Kennedys, I'm doing a JFK/Cuba lecture today. I feel obliged to wear a DKs shirt.

Re: The Future of the Democratic Party
It was adorable to see how astonished students were as I declared JFK pretty damned mediocre, with few domestic accomplishments (apart from a corporate tax cut) and foreign policy successes built on earlier foreign policy fiascos. And that somehow this guy would have prevented all the disorder and catastrofucks of the rest of the decade had he lived? Never doubt the power of a media obsessed with style and nostalgia. Dying young and in spectacular fashion is definitely a good career move.Silent Majority wrote: ↑29 Jan 2018, 1:02pmNikita, marikita, lo que se da no se quita.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑29 Jan 2018, 11:21amSpeaking of Kennedys, I'm doing a JFK/Cuba lecture today. My DKs shirt was duly recognized and appreciated by the hipper kids, tho, so that worked.
