Just saw the video for Styx's “Mr. Roboto,” and have been reminded that maybe it's worse than Heston's favourite song of the 80s. At worse, it's a 1 and 1a situation.

I had to go and play this immeadiately to assure me the robot songs are OK.

The awful question is, tho, whether it's worse than that Hestship abomination.

A resounding yes from me. It's simply plain awful. Far be it for me to heap any praise on WBTCORNR but it has a certain kitschness to it.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑29 Oct 2017, 9:20amThe awful question is, tho, whether it's worse than that Hestship abomination.

Yeah, the pretentiousness of "Mr. Roboto" might make it worse.Marky Dread wrote: ↑29 Oct 2017, 9:32amA resounding yes from me. It's simply plain awful. I enjoy Mr. Roboto far more than WBTCORAR, but probably not in the spirit in which it was intended.

You'd go through a lot of bands before finding one more pretentious than Styx. I saw them once (don't ask why) and the lead singer was doing mime during a guitar solo.

I thought I'd been drunk-posting again when I saw this thread bumped this morning. The relief was palpable.
