Student wants to write about Altamont. Okay.
Student wants to exonerate the Hell's Angels for stopping a catastrophe (Hunter was armed when they murdered him). Oh Christ. So now I'm wondering if the student has biker connections and/or is a racist because, you know, this is fucking crazy.
my friend's dad founded the Canadian branch of the Hells Angels.
Yikes. How long ago was this?

He disappears up into the mountains and is never seen again. Believe me, he'll never be seen again. He'll live forever because of that."

Yeah, that sounds about right. I remember Saskatchewan had a bunch of biker gangs and in the 80s the Hells Angels finally moved in and absorbed them. I knew where their clubhouse was in Saskatoon—near a field where I helped coach a kid's football team—but I don't think I ever once saw one of the members out in public, riding or otherwise.

Might be the late 60s even. But yeah, founded it out in BC and it spread from there. BC of course being a great spot for the drug trade.

Montreal is a big site for Hell's Angels violence—murder and that sort of thing.
