The Kinks song you're thinking about right now thread
Re: The Kinks song you're thinking about right now thread
That good song they had in the 80s. Don't recall anything about it but I'd know it if I heard it.

He don't know me very well do he?
A bit too poppy for my tastes. It was something else.

The Give the People What They Want had some great songs on it. I saw the Kinks twice around this time, on the Give the People tour they were one of the best shows ever and then on State of Confusion it was such a terrible show Ray and Dave were arguing throughout and the show sucked.

Best 80's Kinks song is Living On a Thin Line. Outstanding song from Dave.

Great song, but the album its from is not good. Kinda wish that had this one while recording State of Confusion or Give the People What They Want.

Let's jump back to the 60's with this gem. I always think of this when it rains (which it is doing now)...

The greatest single of all time imho. Perfection.

I'm sure trans people have a complicated relationship with it at best, but Lola was a song which helped raise my consciousness on the gender spectrum when I was an immature, hateful little dolt. I find the song to be coming from a good place on the whole in 2017, but I can see why some might find it distasteful. I think it shows that problematic stuff with underformed politics can still do good in the world. Of course, a genius tune and performance helps.
