Homage to Catalonia 2
Homage to Catalonia 2
With the general strike, seems like there's going to be an independent Catalonia soon. Heard word that Rajoy is looking to deploy military on top of the thuggish Guardia Civil. Anybody want to stitch some red and black neckerchiefs and continue our replay of the 1930s?
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

It's amazing the extent that post-Francoism is still Spain's natural go-to. I remember when I lived there, my boss told me that the bureaucracy and civil service is still completely rammed with fascists because its illegal to fire them. They get a kind of tenure after a time.

Never forget your Faulkner: "The past is never dead. It's not even past." It's our supreme arrogance and myopia that we look at the past as something foreign and overcome.Silent Majority wrote: ↑06 Oct 2017, 5:29amIt's amazing the extent that post-Francoism is still Spain's natural go-to.
