Marky, you're a treasure trove of knowledge! This info is amazing. I too bought all the sketchy 80's releases and thought they were worth it. Wish I still had them. I knew Revolution in the Classroom/Schools are Prisons was a fraud but still liked it, it would have fit on Swindle. I used to think that maybe the Bollocks Brothers 77,78,79 was actually was the Sex Pistols or at least Steve and Paul. This comp is amazing, thank you for putting it together and passing it along. I will be listening to this all day this Sunday.
I've got all the Bollock Brothers albums. '77 '78 '79 is really a great fun album. The claim that all the Pistols take part on it is of course false. The photo of the albums cover has been partially doctored to make it look like Billy Idol/Sid Vicious/John Rotten are in the picture. I say partially doctored because Richard Jobson (Skids) / Steve Jones / Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy/The Greedies) are genuine. Jock McDonald had organised a charity football match. Here's the proof.

I think that Billy Idol may well have provided the vocal to the BB's cover of "I Can't Explain". I have some footage of Billy Idol (vocals)/Steve Jones (guitar) /Paul Cook (drums) /Youth (bass) playing a cover of "Waiting for My Man" from Studio 21 Christmas day 1979.

Wow, thanks for all that, M. While I knew the Ex-Pistols was Dave Goodman hijinx, I thought Steve and Paul were willing participants in it all (I guess I assumed that "Justifiable Homicide" meant that they were involved in all those recordings). What a hilarious, twisted bunch of nonsense. I was 17 or 18 when We Have Cum For Your Children came out and my jaw dropped when I saw this super rare mystery song was on it—"Revolution in the Classroom"—and paid the import price without a second thought. They knew their market was dumb kids like me.
I bought that the instant it was released but I knew just like the "Land of Hope and Glory" single it wasn't John singing however I was hoping it contained the other band members. Yep it seems like Steve/Paul/Glen didn't really give a fuck about John at this point at least until they Steve/Paul took his side in the court case and I bet that was purely financial.
It's funny that of all the shoddy Pistols albums I've bought, I've never felt cheated. Maybe it's that they have a permanent exemption from that kind of annoyance because they changed my life or it's all part of the swindle joke. But I've bought so many bullshit compilations with fake outs and never regretted a single one.

edit: Like this one:
Image

Back in high school I also had a shirt with this sleeve. Totally dug it, wore it until it was rags. If I had a high-quality scan of that album, maybe I could have a print-on-demand shirt made, but otherwise I know I'll never find it again.
I rember that album well. That was a Jock McDonald job. He released a lot of Pistols stuff on his MBC Records with all the song titles changed.

A1 Sigue Sigue Sex Pistols (Sputnik) 4:10
A2 U.K. Disorder 3:24
A3 Lip Child 3:21
A4 This Is Brainwash 2:51
B1 It's Not Funny 4:43
B2 For People Like Us (There Is No Order) 2:43
B3 Oh So Pretty 3:11
B4 Underwater Secrets 3:50

The CD had the same image with more color added. I don't know if it's hi-res enough for a T-shirt print...maybe.

I was young and naive enough to believe that most of those were actually different songs. Would I be so cynical now if I hadn't been such a trusting sucker then?

I'm pretty sure that's Jock McDonald. Have you got this?

Edit : actually after playing it I think it may be David Elton Archer who wrote and sang on some of their early tracks. David was the DJ at Stuudio 21 Club, Oxford Street, London, he also had his own project called Red Lipstique who recorded "Drac's Back" which the BB's also recorded.

Naw don't have that one, is it all covers? Wouldn't mind hearing it. 77'78'79 is a fun listen, always liked it, still listen to it.
Also is that 10th anniversary album any good?

Yes it's the full album put through a fairlight computer. Imagine New Order playing the bollocks album and you'll not be far off.. I can upload if you like.

That tenth anniversary album is just poorer sounding versions of spunk demos and live Burton 76 club tracks so no it's not worth having.

Hmmm...New Order playing the Bollocks album, might be interesting, I mean I do like the Opium Jukebox version of NMTB.

You know what it's not a million miles away from Cut the Crap. At least the BB's were tongue in cheek.

Okay here's all the BB's albums I have :

1983 - The Last Supper
1983 - Never Mind The Bollocks 1983
1984 - Live Performances (Official Bootleg)
1985 - The 4 Horseman Of The Apocalypse
1985 - '77 '78 '79
1986 - Live! In Private In Public
1987 - The Prohecies Of Nostradamus
1989 - Mythology
1991 - The Dea Sea Scrolls
2009 - Last Will And Testament

Some of these are quite scarce now.

...all here in the download. I will leave these up for a couple of days only, so grab 'em while you can. I need the space for my Clash remasters. ;)

Wow! Thanks Marky, this will take a while to digest as I'm still digging on your Ex-Pistols compilation.
