Can we also agree that soccer is the lamest sport after golf?revbob wrote: ↑29 Aug 2017, 8:54pmBaseball soccer is worse by virtue of its naming convention.
Kickball has gotten pretty big around here. I used to think it was for those with very limited skills/atheletic ability. That turned out not to be true so I thought it was just people who didn't want to be all serious but that also turns out to not be true. So yeah, I don't get it.

None of the above sports have fans predicting scoreless ties and consider that an exciting result. It's unfathomable to me that a sport that demands such great conditioning can tolerate, let alone encourage such immorality.

Y'all are susceptible to propaganda. You don't have your own opinions on the sport, you just follow America's lead.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑30 Aug 2017, 1:21pmSoccer existing as the world's most popular game is entirely confounding.

The best I can say for soccer is that it takes a shitload of stamina and athleticism, and it doesn't cost a lot in terms of gear (compared to, say, hockey). But the structure of the game is just dreary dull. I don't need 10-9 games, but I do require more than 85% passing the ball around.

I dispute the propaganda angle that Kory is pushing. I watched my one kid play for many years, it helped to have a rooting interest. Ive also watched some olympic and world cup play. I tend to prefer to watch the women play they usually arent a bunch of pathetic floppers. I pretty much agree with everything Doc says.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑30 Aug 2017, 1:27pmThe best I can say for soccer is that it takes a shitload of stamina and athleticism, and it doesn't cost a lot in terms of gear (compared to, say, hockey). Good lord, one-third of all games end 0-0, 1-0, or 1-1.

It's you my friend who is drinking the koolaid. Somehow they've been able to market this garbage to young Americans these days via the early morning yawnfest called the Premier League. How on earth this snot is more popular than rugby I will never know.Kory wrote: ↑30 Aug 2017, 1:26pmY'all are susceptible to propaganda.
