It's cool that Fish and Bigham are back, but I'm reluctant to call it a reunion until Chris Dowd is back on board.
Kibby too. Well, he's been back in the band for a few years now, but he wasn't last time I saw 'em. Your standards for what constitute are higher than mine, I guess.
Yeah I was pretty bummed when Kibby left because that just left Angelo and Norwood and a bunch of no-names. The reason I want Dowd back so bad is that he did a fair amount of vocals back then and it sounds weird without him. To me he's the heart of Reality of My Surroundings at the very least.
Hello,
Fishbone and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones are among my favorites. Does anything know when either might release new material?
I know I am not going to convince many of you, but Depeche Mode was amazing. The setlist was filled with some of their greatest songs (but not the most obvious ones) like Everything Counts, World In My Eyes, In Your Room, Stripped, Never Let Me Down Again, Home, etc. Dave Gahan's voice is still as booming as it ever was and he still has moves, which says a lot because not only is he older, but he is a former heroin addict and cancer survivor. Martin Gore sounded as soulful as ever on his three big numbers - Somebody, Home and A Question of Lust (which is actually the only song I didn't love during the set. He performed it with just a guitar, and I think that song is far better when they try to replicate its Wall of Sound feeling with synths). The visuals were strong - the collaborated with Anton Corbijn for those again. And Fletch? well he did a great job pushing the buttons he needed to! So good job, Fletch! I know you are all super jealous, but hey, they're my second favorite band.
ETA: This did not feel like a nostalgia show at all. There are a couple of really good songs off their new album and at least one of their more recent songs, Wrong, is among their strongest ever.

What was the age demographics of the audience? Mostly those who were teens when the band got going or were there plenty of young people, too?
Also: your show hasn't popped up on Dime a Dozen, but I am watching for it.

The Bosstones just put out a new single this year. I think it's been a couple of years for Fishbone.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

It was really a mix of both. I was surprised (and happy) to see so many young people there. A lot of teens and early 20s people dressed like me in 1985, too. It was kind of cute. Picture this:

Yeah, the last studio work was an EP called "Intrinsically Intertwined" in 2014. I think the last thing they did that was fairly listenable was the Psychotic Friends Nuttwerx back in 2000.

Is that you on the left?
Ha! No, it's just a photo I found on google. Just illustrating what I looked like in the mid 80s.

So, Jenny, at this Foreigner concert you went to, did you get to see that Mick Jones you're always talking about?
GRRRRRRR.
I will add that a local Pink Floyd cover band sold out the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater the other night. A cover band. A pink Floyd cover band. No wonder nobody comes here.

Could be worse, lile a Grateful Dead cover band.
Or actual Styx.
