Sorry Marky, the track is Rave Up, Shut Up by the Rave Ups. I tried to upload via soundcloud but was stopped because of copyrights.

Back when this was in steady rotation on Friday Night Videos, I'm sure I thought it was the greatest song ever.

AGGGHHHHHHHH. This is one of those songs that I have a (irrational, I know) hatred for.

No, my nostalgic appreciation is what's irrational. It's pretty blah.

It is blah, which is why it's so weird that I harbor such hatred for it. It shouldn't engender this much passion on my part.

You were probably rooting for its opponent on the Friday Night Videos vote. :shifty:

If it was Duran Duran or a strapping young Billy Idol, most definitely. :twitch:

Really digging the latest song from Ron Sexsmith, kind of channelling The Kinks via Alan Price...

There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Everyone knows Bucks Fizz did the best version...

While I'm on the subject of Bucks Fizz, I think this is an underrated pop gem. If Hazel O'Connor or someone had done it, it would have been remembered fondly. Bucks Fizz just had too much baggage...

Not sufficiently different from the original, so it doesn't exceed any nostalgic pull. (Man, that singer looks like he was pulled out of a catalogue for mid-80s male pop singers.)
