I'm guessing around '86 when De Niro was in The Mission. That's the movie and not the band before some wise-ass jumps in.white man wrote:print screen windows xp

Pearl posted the photo on her Instagram. According to her, it's from '83 when The King of Comedy premiered in London.Marky Dread wrote:I'm guessing around '86 when De Niro was in The Mission. That's the movie and not the band before some wise-ass jumps in.white man wrote:print screen windows xp

That's interesting, I know The Clash had their small role (street scum) in "King of Comedy" but De Niro sure looks like his character Rodrigo Medoza from "The Mission" which premiered at Cannes in May '86 just after The Clash had split up.BR16ADE_R055E wrote:Pearl posted the photo on her Instagram. King of Comedy '83
The Mission '86
In-between those two movies De Niro played "Noodles" in "Once Upon A Time in America" '84 and "Tuttle" in "Brazil" '85 and he didn't have long hair or a beard in either of those. I think Pearls memory is playing tricks.

Paul definitely has his mid-eighties hair there. See the back cover of CtC. I'm going with 1986 too.Marky Dread wrote:That's interesting, I know The Clash had their small role (street scum) in "King of Comedy" but De Niro sure looks like his character Rodrigo Medoza from "The Mission" which premiered at Cannes in May '86 just after The Clash had split up.BR16ADE_R055E wrote:Pearl posted the photo on her Instagram. Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Anyone have the film strip of the 9/20 Palladium bass smash? I wonder if it's gif-able... would be cool...
