I read his Man of Steel series a long time ago, but that's it. I've heard about some cringeworthy stories, tho (Superman drugged into doing porn?). His Fantastic Four run is still exceptionally great and he's capable of some breathtaking large-scale panels, but beyond that he doesn't appeal.

Yeah, never read the porn story, but I've heard a summary of it, and it sounds fucking cringeworthy.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑29 Mar 2017, 6:42pmI read his Man of Steel series a long time ago, but that's it. I dig his FF run, though it's no patch on either Lee/Kirby or even Waid/Weiringo or Hickman's run in hindsight either. I think his best work was X-Men, and he should just suck it up and deal with the fact he was second fiddle to Claremont. He needs someone to rein him in even in the best circumstances.
Oh, and he was a huge baby to retcon out Arcade lighting a match on Doom as just a Doombot. That was one of the best moments in Supervillain history. I'm glad someone re-retconned his dumb idea of Lockjaw being a former human being as a prank played on Ben in retaliation. Tool.

I place it only behind Lee & Kirby, but it's impossible to better what they did. They were Lennon/McCartney on FF.
I'm just not enough of a Claremont fan to jerk that wiener. It's too over-the-top melodrama for my taste, but one can't deny it's lasting influence.I think his best work was X-Men, and he should just suck it up and deal with the fact he was second fiddle to Claremont. He obviously kept an enemies list like Nixon. With all that spite, how was he not a member of PiL in the early years?Oh, and he was a huge baby to retcon out Arcade lighting a match on Doom as just a Doombot. I thought the "Ray Gange Memorial IMCT Toilet Stall" was the name of Inder's secret invite-only sex dungeon subforum on the old board?

There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

I was still in my 30s, making a somewhat plausible case for being young.

"oi mate tahts teh pisstake !!1" was my attempt to parody mustafabigun's argot.Rat Patrol wrote: ↑28 Mar 2017, 10:07pmMore like: sounds like cheerfully drunken Welsh but not nearly enough vowels, a few too many apostrophe abbreviations, too much familiarity with London landmarks, and ceded the sheep-boinking crown to 101 far too easily to be from the sticks. He was nice. Or at least I think he was. Nobody who says "mate" that frequently in close proximity to multiple exclamation marks could ever not be nice.

There are tons of people who have left, and I never had them on FB or if I did, they left that too. Remember modskin?
