Any Pink Floyd challenge should include this just to break up any monotony.

Re: The Challenge Thread
I'd be down to try some Pink Floyd. All I know is Money, Brick, and Wish You Were Here.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Flex, I don't think the list will be complete without "Dogs."
I wonder if I could challenge anyone to a 311 list?
edit: on second thought, I'd prefer to challenge on a band I care more about.

To be fair, that is by far one of their worst songs.Silent Majority wrote: ↑08 Mar 2017, 3:41pmA lot of the studio versions aren't available in the UK - which is weird - so I tried out the first result I could. I know they're jam band and the dude has a 90s alt-rock voice, so I know I won't love 'em. I'd be willing to give 'em a college try.

Is there even a scale by which you can measure such horror?Kory wrote: ↑09 Mar 2017, 8:55pmTo be fair, that is by far one of their worst songs.Silent Majority wrote: ↑08 Mar 2017, 3:41pmA lot of the studio versions aren't available in the UK - which is weird - so I tried out the first result I could. Re: The Challenge Thread
I think Matey will agree that they're a band that appeals primarily to either bro's or serious musicians, especially their drummer on the latter score. So, you get a song like "Crash Into Me," which is pretty obviously written for guys with acoustic guitars to try and get laid with, but then you have other songs which are more appealing to people with more jammy or proggy sensibilities.revbob wrote: ↑20 Mar 2017, 6:31pmIs there even a scale by which you can measure such horror?Kory wrote: ↑09 Mar 2017, 8:55pmTo be fair, that is by far one of their worst songs.Silent Majority wrote: ↑08 Mar 2017, 3:41pmA lot of the studio versions aren't available in the UK - which is weird - so I tried out the first result I could. I do really like the description of his voice sounding like a saxophone full of mayonnaise.

I like Crash Into Me and a few of their other singles.

Dave Mathews gives me audio diarrhea and cramps.

I'm still trying to figure out if Kory is a fan or merely an apologist. I expect Hoy to be a fan that goes without saying.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑20 Mar 2017, 7:56pmI give revbob proxy to dish Dave Matthews attacks on my behalf.
I only had to listen to them once when I worked with this older hippy-ish woman and she would sometimes play that and other crap over the building PA when nobody else was in the school. I found Slayer and Ministry to be the only effective antidote.
