Though not as grand as Darlene's original, it's still a pretty lovely version. Basic track was recorded at a sound-check, Darlene Love's backing vox were overdubbed later. No matter what ya'all think of Bongo, the dude can sing.

And this (though not expressly a Christmas song): a Woody Guthrie tune that sounds like the LC/S! era Clash; dig the anger in Bongo's voice. Sounds like he means/feels every word.

Bozo, Bongo! Show some bloody respect will you. His name is Bonio and was so called after a dog biscuit.

A bit late I know but I'd never heard this even though I've got all Waits' albums. It's one of the most beautiful things I've heard in quite a while.

Never knew about this album (from '89 apparently) or the organization, which seems pretty cool.

That performance really got to me - been a long time since a song made me break down on first listening.

25 Days of Christmas (Songs) - Day 1

Sloppy Seconds - Hooray for Santa Claus (Theme From "Santa Claus Conquers The Martians")

Original release: Lonely Christmas
Year: 1992

To open up this holiday season we have seminal punk band Sloppy Second with their take on the theme song to trash classic Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. Earworm music no matter what version you're hearing.
