I met Tim curry once, too bad I was drunk and all I could say was how much the movie Times Square affected me. A great film which I think every one of a certain age will relate to. I just went on and on about it, he was just happy I didn't mention Spamalot or Rocky Horror. I also told him he did a great Jagger impression on SNL which he really dug.

Eh, I thought it was pretty bad actually, although it was gritty and cool to see all those NYC locales (which I'm sure you dug). Brilliant soundtrack though.

True the movie wasn't the best but it did evoke a rebelliousness and dealt with alienation and just not fitting it. The soundtrack was the real killer, that double lp was my introduction to so much amazing music, first time I heard Pissing in a River blew my mind and Same Old Scene...The Ruts, XTC, Suzi Quatro...One of the best soundtracks.

I thought Tim did a great job as the DJ, I was only a teenager living in Florida and I thought they have this is New York! I must go there as soon as I can and I did and haven't left in almost 30 years.

Joey gave me one of those sup nods while he moved through part of the crowd at a show at the Ritz in NYC back in the late 80s. I was one of the few people around that could literally see eye to eye with him, he was pretty tall.

I've also met and chatted with Billy Bragg, Mojo Nixon and Dick Dale (he liked my Free Peltier shirt I had on at the time).

You met Joltin' Joe??? Now that's a rock star! Pray tell how did that come about?

And Mike Skinner - is that the guy from the Streets? Was he funny?

EDIT: shit, I read that as JOE DiMaggio. :disshame: More's the pity.

Skinner from The Streets was surrounded by women so I didn't really get a chance to talk to him much. Seemed like a nice enough guy though.

I have met and chatted with (excluding Finnish / local music people)
Ice T - Random meeting on a street when he was still a rapper. He was with his bodyguards and a bit busy to go. Otherwise OK.
Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine - Random meeting at a festival. Me and a friend of mine chatted with him quite a bit. Cool. I think I have his autograph.

Killing Joke after their gig:
Big Paul Ferguson - Twice. Unbelievably cool, great person. I even had a photo taken with him this November, first time ever with a famous / celeb.
Geordie Walker - The first time 2010 I was afraid of him and his cursing and didn't want to bother. This November I approached him and he was actually really nice.
Youth

I have stood next to the members of Type O Negative at a local metal gig but did not say anything. They were kind of intimidating and I did not have a thing to say.

Social media interaction:
Facebook / Twitter comments / responses from
Chuck Mosely (ex-Faith No More)
Roddy Bottum and Billy Gould (FNM)
Vernon Reid (Living Colour)
Youth

The Clash connections
DJ Barry Scratchy Myers was playing records at a local bar in Helsinki and I had a chat with him.
Lord Fatty, a local DJ I know partied with Joe Strummer in 1999 after a Mescaleros gig Finland.
- Pilled up and rrattling -

Hello,

I actually had long conversations with Sting (first US tour - pretty nice fellow, low key) and Joe Jackson (odd fellow but really knows music and musicians). Both are funny stories but I'm too lazy to type them out - actually got on stage with Sting.

Met SLF several times 1979/1980. Tried to blag a lift to a gig in Aylesbury once but they wouldn't take me even when I showed them the ticket and said I couldn't get there.
Went to school with ex Transvision Vamp and Bush member and met the rest of TV in pub in Westbourne Grove.
Lemme used to drink in same local in Westbourne Grove plus the singer from ABC drank in Slug and Lettuce off Westbourne Grove.
Met several celeb neighbours in pubs when living in Chippenham Road including Bjork, Robbie Williams, Liam Gallagher and the mighty Bros!!!
Have also met the guy off the cover of Elgin Avenue Breakdown and What's The Story Morning Glory.
