Re: Happy birthday, Marky!
Had a lay in. Then breakfast in bed (full English) . Then went for a walk with my two dogs (my best friends). Then played my birthday presents " Pink Floyd - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" (3CD box set mono/stereo edition), "PiL - Metal Box" (3 CD SHM Japanese edition replica metal tin - great sound. "Marc Bolan & T. Rex - The Final Cuts" CD. Then I chilled out with a cup of tea and slice of cake and watched the David Lynch movie "Mulholland Drive". All in all not a bad day thank you very much.muppet hi fi wrote:OK young mang, so what'd you do? What was your soundtrack for the day - Pistols or Elvis (the deceased one)? Love that collection. Makes a great case for early Floyd's greatness.Marky Dread wrote:Pink Floyd - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" (3CD box set mono/stereo edition)

Re: Happy birthday, Marky!
Sure does mate. Have you seen the mega expensive box set that's coming out later this year? It has tons of early stuff on it but at nearly £400.00 it's way out of my price range. I think there is going to be a two disc cheapo version which is the best I can hope for.Flex wrote:Love that collection. Yeah, I've been salivating over it from afar. I'm sure I can get rips of the music or w/e, but it seems like quite a fun physical product. Still, as you say, pretty well out of my price range.Marky Dread wrote:Sure does mate. Have you seen the mega expensive box set that's coming out later this year? I'm a big Syd fan and that unreleased stuff looks great. Though I have a ton of unreleased Syd stuff on boots in great quality so I will be interested to see if it's the same. If you can check out the "Have You Got It Yet?" multi disc bootleg set wwhich is superb. As soon as I get off this silly tablet and get my desktop back the better things will be.Flex wrote:Yeah, I've been salivating over it from afar. A belated birthday present for Marky (and other fans of early Pink Floyd)
PF at the BBC - a new show on BBC radio 6. These early sessions have been booted for years, but there might be some upgrades here (maybe utilising stuff from the forthcoming box set?)
