That pic is tribute enough for any band.Heston wrote:I met him a couple of years back at a Clash tribute gig. I got talking to to him because he had a "Vince White - Guitar Hero" t-shirt on, I think I mentioned it (and posted the pic) on here.Dr. Medulla wrote:How do you know him? Details! Details! Details!
Anyway, he's travelling through to see my band on Saturday and was asking me about local accommodation so I gave him a few pointers, and we're gonna meet for a pint afterwards. He's a nice bloke actually, if a bit misguided in his love for Clash II.

I'm very disappointed. I have seen that pic several times before and for obvious reasons I didn't look too closely. I always thought he was drinking tea out of a china cup and saucer which fitted perfectly with the total bizarreness of the photograph however whilst trying to work out who it is (because of this post) I realise that he isn't drinking tea at all but looking at (presumably) pictures of model train enthusiasts!!Heston wrote:I am meeting up with this man on Saturday.matedog wrote:

Ha! Me too. I am very disappointed. It's like when you learn the correct version of a misheard lyric, but know that your version is superior.Heston wrote:That's bizarre, I thought it was a tea cup as well until today!101Walterton wrote:I'm very disappointed. Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .
