Maj, Marky, can you guys attend?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Ask about his legendary trilogy of unreleased novels.

Would anyone have an interest in hearing Bernie talk? I would totally be into that.

Re: Bernard Rhodes at the British Library
The guy's got a serious ego—the recurring line from Bernie in Redemption Song that, deep down, Joe wanted to be him—and he's got a deep need to correct what he thinks is a grossly unfair record in terms of punk's development and his role. I'd definitely go to that for the yuks. And to maybe ask an EET question.matedog wrote:Would anyone have an interest in hearing Bernie talk? I would totally be into that.

I would go. Despite his (many) faults I am grateful for Bernie's contribution which has been downplayed and idiculed over time.

He was fortunate to work with some great bands. How much of their greatness is down to him is extremely debatable.101Walterton wrote:I would go. Despite his (many) faults I am grateful for Bernie's contribution which has been downplayed and idiculed over time.
