So, in this patriarchal society, the 72 virgins thing refers only to female virgins, no?

And that's supposed to be a recruiting point for heterosexual male terrorists who are misusing Islamic texts to justify their sociopathic actions?

Then what's the recruiting pitch for heterosexual female terrorists, who are becoming more frequent?

And does the 72 (female) virgins thing work to entice lesbian terrorists?

This is all so complicated ... :twitch:

And yes, Jenny, your photo made this pedantic, anal-retentive, over-thinker laugh. Thanks.

Related to Spiff's observation, is a virgin more appealing to a lesbian? I've never thought of that, but does it have a cachet to it?

I imagine they'd be less caught up in the concept of conquest and more annoyed at having to teach someone how to do anything worthwhile.

I think it's more a thing in the lesbian community if one has never been with a man. That's the analogy to men who find virgins appealing. At least that's what I heard on The L Word. :shifty:

Horribly male and possessive to be so concerned about a woman's supposed purity. Even from a selfish perspective, a non-virgin would know their way around the corners better and probably make for a better shared experience.

A non-virgin may also know a little too much for a first timer.

Virgin is a weird translation for houri. The concept isn't the same.

I don't mean from an Islamic standpoint. That someone may have slept with your partner is an old fashioned western male concern which is still active in some pockets today. I read an advice column in a waiting room the other day where a man in his twenties had written in because he was concerned that his partney didn't bleed the first time they had sex. Never mind the idea that the hymen often gets broken through physical activity in early life nowadays, it was a big deal for him still that someone may have been there first.

I didn't realize you were a lesbian either.

And the word lesbian doesn't show up in my pick list as I type out lesbian.
