I'm more bothered by the lazy asses who are just standing around or waving flags and shovels while their friends are doing all the lifting—who's the parasite now? Tho that one woman is strong enough to just use one arm, so that's cool.

Whenever I think life sucks, I remember this fact.
I haven't met any yet, but you can't constitute an IU without some people in it.
"The IWW is one of the country's oldest unions," Chase says. "They'll take anyone. They're the only union that takes strippers. That's why I joined. For a while I was thinking about organizing the strippers in Atlanta, but I ran into some hostility when I was trying to do it."
http://www.iww.org/en/node/1832

The basic idea of the IWW: get ALL workers into one radical union organized according to industry. That increases the power of workers as a class, so then we can have a big general strike eventually and do in the motherfuckers. In the meantime we can improve conditions by being real hardasses about it.

Preamble to the IWW constitution:
The working class and the employing class have nothing in common. There can be no peace so long as hunger and want are found among millions of the working people and the few, who make up the employing class, have all the good things of life.

Between these two classes a struggle must go on until the workers of the world organize as a class, take possession of the means of production, abolish the wage system, and live in harmony with the Earth.

We find that the centering of the management of industries into fewer and fewer hands makes the trade unions unable to cope with the ever growing power of the employing class. The trade unions foster a state of affairs which allows one set of workers to be pitted against another set of workers in the same industry, thereby helping defeat one another in wage wars. Moreover, the trade unions aid the employing class to mislead the workers into the belief that the working class have interests in common with their employers.

These conditions can be changed and the interest of the working class upheld only by an organization formed in such a way that all its members in any one industry, or in all industries if necessary, cease work whenever a strike or lockout is on in any department thereof, thus making an injury to one an injury to all.

Instead of the conservative motto, "A fair day's wage for a fair day's work," we must inscribe on our banner the revolutionary watchword, "Abolition of the wage system."

It is the historic mission of the working class to do away with capitalism. The army of production must be organized, not only for everyday struggle with capitalists, but also to carry on production when capitalism shall have been overthrown. By organizing industrially we are forming the structure of the new society within the shell of the old.

I believe in adequate defense at the coastline and nothing else. If a nation comes over here to fight, then we'll fight. The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6 percent over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100 percent. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag.

I wouldn't go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy investment of the bankers....

I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested.

A Catalan militant, Enric Duran, has defrauded 39 Spanish banks of 500,000 Euros, using some of same techniques as the Wall Street scammers. He used the money to fund social movements and produce 200,000 copies of a free newspaper called CRISIS, describing the fraud as well as the nature of the money system and alternatives to capitalism. The idea that there are unionized strippers out there that believe it brings a warm glow to my life when I'm feeling down.

I guess I believe that as much as I believe that free market capitalism is the cure for all ills.

I think "free market capitalism" is self-contradictory. There has never been a free market so long as capitalism has been around. It's all pretty much variations on mercantilism. And post-FDR we're more fascistic than anything.

This won't happen. Obama is going to take care of everything. Free healthcare for all. Tax cut for 95% of Americans. Clean and AVAILABLE energy. Great public schools (but he'll send his to private schools). Surely our savoior won't let these horrible predictions happen.
