Ha! Yes. We adopted her a few months back (might have been during your board hiatus). She's a cockapoo, just like the guy to the left, and also from the humane society, just like the guy to the left. She is only a year and a half, and still has a lot of puppy in her. But I'm getting tons of exercise! Here's a pic. Her name is Scout, and I hate her. But I also love her:Dr. Medulla wrote:JennyB wrote:Our new dog is a total fascist, but she does make the trains run on time.Silent Majority wrote:Nice.Dr. Medulla wrote:I have, on my fur, 205 communist fleas.Silent Majority wrote:

She's adorable. Did Ari have any input on picking her out and naming and all that stuff?JennyB wrote:Ha! Yes. We adopted her a few months back (might have been during your board hiatus). Thanks. She's lucky she's adorable. And he did have input in both. You should get a dog!Dr. Medulla wrote:She's adorable. She and Ari are good buds, I'm guessing?JennyB wrote:Thanks. She's lucky she's adorable. And he did have input in both. You should get a dog!Dr. Medulla wrote:She's adorable. B has pushed the dog idea for some time and we almost did it this summer, but we ended up having house repairs that were disruptive (and pricey), so it got shelved. I'd be interested in doing it in December because I won't be teaching next term, so I'll be home most of the time, but walking a new puppy in January would be a pain in the ass. Plus there's my anxiety about what it'll do to the girls. While it wouldn't the same as when we introduced that psychopathic kitty last year, they are really sheltered and spoiled. A new puppy, tho, would be deferential to the residents, I hope, which would make the settling in period a bit easier. Or maybe I'm deluding myself.

I would advise against getting a puppy and go for an adult dog (still young, like two or three) that's been in a foster home. Puppies are awful.

My thinking is that with a puppy, it'll be easier to integrate the species (the puppy hasn't had as many experiences and would be more amenable to a couple princess-y cats). I'd love to avoid the housetraining aspect, tho.JennyB wrote:I would advise against getting a puppy and go for an adult dog (still young, like two or three) that's been in a foster home. Maggie really wants a dog, but neither of us have the time to take care of it. It's getting hard to keep reminding her of this fact.

Whenever people ask if I have children I tell them that I have a cactus (which is true). Instead of a dog, you should get a cactus.Kory wrote:Maggie really wants a dog, but neither of us have the time to take care of it. It's getting hard to keep reminding her of this fact.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

I got a B on a paper! First time I've ever gotten a B on a paper. So weird.
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .
