Re: The Freddy Thready
Ni had only seen the original Nightmare, so I showed her No3 the other day. She agrees with me that it's the better of the two. I stand by it being a classic film, with no exaggeration or qualifiers. I'm debating with myself if any of the other Freddy movies (Vs Jason aside, we've watched that) are worth eating up our time together. Most likely not.

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Yeah, 1, 3 and New are the best. 2 is bad but worth watching for all the homosexual undertonesmatedog wrote:I remember New Nightmare being quite good and original.Silent Majority wrote:Ni had only seen the original Nightmare, so I showed her No3 the other day. 4 has some great visuals and one of the best deaths. Freddy's Dead has my favorite black new Yaphet Kotto.tepista wrote:Yeah, 1, 3 and New are the best. 2 is bad but worth watching for all the homosexual undertonesmatedog wrote:I remember New Nightmare being quite good and original.Silent Majority wrote:Ni had only seen the original Nightmare, so I showed her No3 the other day. Re: The Freddy Thready
I find New Nightmare's reputation quite overstated. Good concept, very shoddy and padded execution.matedog wrote:I remember New Nightmare being quite good and original.Silent Majority wrote:Ni had only seen the original Nightmare, so I showed her No3 the other day. I can't even begin to think what you meant here.Freddy's Dead has my favorite black new Yaphet Kotto.
