This confused me for a few seconds... then oh University of Kentucky got ya.

Me too!I hate the transnational corporations far more than any black person.
Is your average Klansman that theoretically nuanced? My assumption (emphasis on assumption) is that they're of a segregated simplified myth of free labour—"an honest day's pay for an honest day's work."eumaas wrote:Of either the current state capitalist system or neoliberal or genuinely freed market.Dr. Medulla wrote:Of the Wall Street/international kind, anyway.eumaas wrote:Most of the white separatist movement is virulently anti-capitalist.Wolter wrote:Weird, I never thought I'd agree with a Klansman:eumaas wrote: The Metzger quote sounds a hell of a lot like Metzger. Third Positionists argue for greater decentralization, following Chesterbelloc. National-Anarchists, National Bolsheviks, etc also fit into this category. It's left-Nazism inspired by the Strasser brothers.
Traditional Nazis argue for extreme centralization (analogous to Stalin's system) or something closer to our system but with the state/party apparatus at the rudder (dirigism). Nazism is state capitalist too, but with the emphasis being on the state as the great controller whereas our system is state capitalist with already established privilege and elite private power directing the show.
The Klan is pretty much a social club. Metzger doesn't have much to do with the traditional Klan.Dr. Medulla wrote:Is your average Klansman that theoretically nuanced? Maybe so. Whenever I've heard these guys speak, it comes off as so crude that I've never associated them with anything close to sophisticated analysis.eumaas wrote:The Klan is pretty much a social club. Do not make the mistake of assuming these racists to be stupid. Their worldview is skewed, but much of the leaders exhibit a high degree of sophistication. Totalitarianism often attracts intellectuals.
I've spent time on far-right email lists doing research and some of these guys are pretty impressive.Dr. Medulla wrote:Maybe so. Whenever I've heard these guys speak, it comes off as so crude that I've never associated them with anything close to sophisticated analysis.
I will defer to you and your intimate Nazi connections …eumaas wrote:I've spent time on far-right email lists doing research and some of these guys are pretty impressive.Dr. Medulla wrote:Maybe so. It's true that the footsoldiers are often morons, but the intellectuals aren't any less sophisticated than your average conservative or liberal think tanker.Dr. Medulla wrote:I will defer to you and your intimate Nazi connections …eumaas wrote:I've spent time on far-right email lists doing research and some of these guys are pretty impressive.Dr. Medulla wrote:Maybe so. Sophistication is a relative thing. I obviously find left-libertarian cranks like me more sophisticated. But in relation to mainstream political thinking, they display the same degree of sophistication I think.Dr. Medulla wrote:You may be contradicting your earlier point about sophisticated thinking …eumaas wrote:It's true that the footsoldiers are often morons, but the intellectuals aren't any less sophisticated than your average conservative or liberal think tanker.Dr. Medulla wrote:I will defer to you and your intimate Nazi connections …eumaas wrote:I've spent time on far-right email lists doing research and some of these guys are pretty impressive.Dr. Medulla wrote:Maybe so. True, but hasn't Nazism always been about moronic, knee-jerk thugs at the ground level and super-elitist intellectuals at the top, like the SA and SS, respectively, during the '30's?Dr. Medulla wrote:Maybe so.
