The irony being he's been more generous than anyone about his music.Chuck wrote:Mick Jones does not care about Clash people.

Think positive, folks. There's no real reason that Mick can't make another BAD album with these songs. You can cite this or that cynical reason, but there's not one that can't be overcome with imagination.TeddyB Not Logged In wrote:There's a very good album's worth of unreleased songs from the Upping Street/Tighten Up era, including five or six written by Strummer/Jones. Don't really know what's going to become of them at this point.
I want these Strummer/Jones songs! And any new songs Mick and the guys want to write!
Re: Bradford Upgrade lossless
These five/six Strummer/Jones songs, I'm guessing they include Dog in a Satellite and US Now. Did Joe have a hand in Rob Peter Pay Paul?

Oh, and I'm late to the party again. All of the links to this Bradford upgrade you all were nice enough to post are no longer working. Any chance for an upload again? I'd appreciate it.NoMoreHugh wrote:Only the 3 tracks
I have put them up lossless straight from internet rip too as the mp3 already exist

No, Joe wasn't involved in Rob Peter Pay Paul, which was indeed originally written for Tighten Up 88. But yes, Dog in a Satellite and U.S. North are two of the Strummer/Jones songs. There's also a great one called Respray Black Sedan, among a fistful of others. Unfortunately, there are various obstacles to B.A.D. making a new album with them, not all of them "cynical." Doesn't mean they can't ever be overcome but the best chance for that was in 2011 and the obstacles could not be overcome then.appleseed wrote:These five/six Strummer/Jones songs, I'm guessing they include Dog in a Satellite and US Now. Re: Bradford Upgrade lossless
That's fascinating to hear about Respray Black Sedan. What a fantastic title. And it's good to place RPPP in BAD's chronology as well. Thanks. Tighten Up Vol. 88 is an album I'll revisit from time to time and kick myself for not listening to it more. It's loaded with under-valued songs. No, Joe wasn't involved in Rob Peter Pay Paul, which was indeed originally written for Tighten Up 88. As for the obstacles, here's to all the appropriate parties pushing through them with full-on Ganesh power!
