Probably for me, too. That's a really great one.
Beyond awesome version done by power pop band Blue Ash (how I found out about the Beatles track itself):

I can get the McCartney hatred, but an "Oh Darling" or "Golden Slumbers" always shakes me out of my malaise. "I Saw Her Standing There" never fails to hit me on a pure gut level.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Very good examples of him demonstrating a ballsier voice. Late period Beatles had McCartney at the top of his game.

Agreed. Ali sang a hell of a cover of Oh, Darling to me at our wedding.

I brought up the joke to Wolly in Chicago probably around the first time you said it. He told me (in extreme confidence) that he did find it funny.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense . If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Yeah, I've pretty much been amused every time.

What is this guy addicted to marriage or something? Shit, I'll put on a dress if I get a shot at half of what Hoppy didn't get.
