Because you're still flying high on being a saviour and all these days, I'll let that pass.

So for the anti-JD club I have Inder and RP on my side!
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

So do the Blue Jays, but I don't interrupt the baseball thread for that.

Ian Curtis = Mr. Bean

But Mr. Bean probably has a better singing voice.

Thier sudden popularity is almost making me not want to like them anymore... :(
It could be from the movie being released in the past year or so, I've seen many ads for it on the internet. I've never knowingly listened to Joy Division not for any particular reason, just never have, that goes for a lot of bands though.

Control gets the eumaas thumbs up.

I keed. I keed. I just picked up that Stalin bio you recommended some time back. After I get through the 10 or so other books I have queued up, I'm on it like a rat on a cheeto.

Joy Division's good music when you're wallowing in self-pity.

I just bought Control today.

It's sitting unwrapped on the counter. I'm contemplating perhaps watching it.

I'm sure Echo's going to be proud of me...

Now I've just finished watching it. How bloody UPLIFTING was that?!

I thought it was very good. I think they romanticized Ian a bit too much, and that Sam dude sings nothing like Ian....but I guess the movie had to be made like this in order to capture the audiences emotions, eh? Which it does....it's the first movie I got choked up over in a looooong time.

I need to cheer myself up somehow.... :disshame:
