Bush doesn't have kittens that look like him. And I believe he has at least 2 balls.

On the other hand, Hitler didn't look like a chimp.tepista wrote:Bush doesn't have kittens that look like him.

OK, I'm gonna be really Jewy here, but this notion really offends me. I know the Bush family had ties with the Nazis, yada yada yada, but it's not fair to lump GW in with that. Trust me, I'm no fan of Bush (Ha! Did you see what I said there?) but to compare him with Hitler is just intellectually and historically dishonest. And I may be biased since I am the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, but the one thing Bush hasn't done is try to systematically wipe an entire people off the planet, many of them his own citizens to boot. Again, I vehemently dislike Bush, but the Hitler comparisons go too far.

Just like a Jew to ruin Hitler for the rest of us.

Also, don't call him fascist.

So do I. There's all kinds of evil, and it's cheap politics or intellectual dishonesty to lump a corporatist lackey halfwit with a genocidal monster.eumaas wrote:I agree with the above.JennyB wrote:OK, I'm gonna be really Jewy here, but this notion really offends me. I recall the contours of the discussion, but I don't think I equated Naziism with fascism at the time (and if I did, ha, the pm's are all gone). At best fellow travelers, but that's as far I'd go.Also, don't call him fascist.

edit: Or did you mean not calling Bush a fascist? I'd definitely lean in that direction, depending on how sincere his Christian dominionism is.

Re: Bush / Hitler
Okay. I'm on the fence, largely because I don't know how much of a dominionist he is. Which, I know, isn't a pertinent factor in your analysis (agree to disagree, etc) but it is in mine. If I'm remembering our Hedges / fascism discussion even remotely correctly.eumaas wrote:I'm saying Bush ain't no fascist.

Why, was there some ambiguity that my statement shouldn't be read as anything but nerdacious?Wolter wrote:You forgot to add [/nerd] to the end of that.Dr. Medulla wrote:A DS9 movie would haul so much ass.
