Fort Bragg from Rat Patrol
After reading Kris Needs review in Mojo, I'd like to get hold of a CD of this - can anyone point me in the right direction of a reputable scource?
Also- had to smile earlier at the Parade of Champions ( returning Olmpic team) - who were interviewed in Trafalgar Sq by Sue Barker...as 'London Calling'
played in the background...' The Ice age is Coming, The sun is zooming in, engines stop running, the wheat is growing thin...' - a suitably apacalypical vision of where we are with melting markets, glovbal warming and 3rd world food shortages...
...mind you I read some US Newtwoks used ' Rock the Casbah' as a soundtrack to the bombing of Baghdad back in the Gulf War...

For the record, the album is actually called Rat Bragg from Fort Patrol.

I understand it was the first song played on US Forces Radio in the first Gulf War.tommygun wrote:After reading Kris Needs review in Mojo, I'd like to get hold of a CD of this - can anyone point me in the right direction of a reputable scource?

Sloppy playing or not being overtly fond of reggae?Heston wrote:Have to disagree, Jamaica is terrible!tommy1962 wrote:you can get it at Don J Ws excellent Clash site,i quite like Micks mix of SISOSIG,also,"the beautiful people are ugly too",?Doesn't desrve to be tucked away on some bootleg either!About 5 yrs ago ,i went to Dublin and found this record shop full of bootleg cds,i bought the clash live in Boston cica Sandinista.I paid 22 euro, when i got my computer i discovered i could have got it for free.Tryin to figure out if they should have released Jamaica instead of Shea, both great concerts.

Sloppy playing, the band sound very under-rehearsed. Even Joe's normally reliable '82 vocals sound poor on this one.Marky Dread wrote:Sloppy playing or not being overtly fond of reggae?Heston wrote:Have to disagree, Jamaica is terrible!tommy1962 wrote:you can get it at Don J Ws excellent Clash site,i quite like Micks mix of SISOSIG,also,"the beautiful people are ugly too",?Doesn't desrve to be tucked away on some bootleg either!About 5 yrs ago ,i went to Dublin and found this record shop full of bootleg cds,i bought the clash live in Boston cica Sandinista.I paid 22 euro, when i got my computer i discovered i could have got it for free.Tryin to figure out if they should have released Jamaica instead of Shea, both great concerts.

I've always loved Jamaica mainly for the tracklist.

Same here. It's sloppy and awful but at least it's interesting.101Walterton wrote:I've always loved Jamaica mainly for the tracklist.
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

I think it's awfulness is actually charming, unlike some other shows where the awfulness is just awful.eumaas wrote:Same here. It's sloppy and awful but at least it's interesting.101Walterton wrote:I've always loved Jamaica mainly for the tracklist.
