Post by Aidan Day »

Anyone remember the name of the support band that played 'Word Up' at the Astoria gigs in '87 (I think)

They were excellent when I saw them supporting BAD in 86. One of the best support bands I've seen.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Thank you - i have beem wracking my brains over that one even my ticket from the 3rd only said "plus special guests" you have a good memory and i would never have come up with it myself. I knew they were rockerbilly looking but then i thought was i getting mixed up with havanna. I checked the chiefs out on youtube and then it all came flooding back - they were good as i remember but i didnt think they were too original imho. Some of the earlier london gigs the Beasty boys supported BAD before they got there own UK success they stood out as pretty good.
