I can well believe Damon wrote it, he's a very good pop writer when he wants to be.

I absolutely love the song, one of the best tunes of recent times for me.

Agreed and much closer in sound to Damon's solo stuff than Blur.

It's as if TGTBATQ had a tune.

Nice !

Damon can write good songs but this one is very special.
Funny you mention GTBATQ wiki says ....

"The song was originally written by Damon Albarn during the production of the Good, the Bad and the Queen's self titled album."

Anyway, the tune work there doesn't feel identifiably Mick Jones. Fits in easy with a good few of the Gorilaz songs.

While on the subject, I thought Stylo was a lot of fun.

Great song, and he has written a fistful of them. Damon is obsessed with the Clash and they are a major influence on some of his material, especially in Gorillaz.

Stylo is the Junco Partner of whatever the fuck: a groove that won't quit.

The full AOL sessions are pretty great. Also, Mick can be heard better on them than on nearly any live gig. A couple of the radio broadcasts also have him at a decent level.
