No bloody Newcastle date, it's looking like another trip to London, Manchester or Glasgow.

Glasgow for me. Back next day for blackburn at home
Re: Mick Jones to perform Clash songs
I noticed at the bottom of the link on the first post a piece about the Stones rehearsing, perhaps without Mick Jagger. Do you think Mick will have to reword 'Jail Guitar Doors' if he plays it?

Mick should take this to Chicago. He owes it to the fan.

You mean, the Fan 98.9, with Skeeter and the Bobcat, playing all the best alternative hits of the 90s?Wolter wrote:Mick should take this to Chicago. He owes it to the fan.

Chicago sounds like a swell town.Dr. Medulla wrote:You mean, the Fan 98.9, with Skeeter and the Bobcat, playing all the best alternative hits of the 90s?Wolter wrote:Mick should take this to Chicago. He owes it to the fan.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Re: Mick Jones to perform Clash songs
I gently prodded Mick about Peter Hooton from The Farm, who was obviously beside himself singing the likes of White Man in Hammersmith with Mick on guitar and backing vocals in Liverpool. Hopefully the promised surprise guests will help out singing a couple of lead vocals on the Clash tunes, as Mick seems loath to sing lead on songs Joe sang. I believe he only sang lead on the inevitable Should I Stay and Train in Vain. All in good spirit though and for a good cause, very Clash in the best sense of it.
