Hi, I'm new here, been a casual lurker for years...love the forums here!
Can anyone send me a cd copy of the 'Entering A New Ride' tunes?
I had a burned copy from a long time ago, but it no longer plays. I'm not much of a techy either, downloading confuses the hell out of me!
If you can help me out, email me at tacosaws@hotmail.com for my address, etc.
Thanks! Much appreciated!

For a sort of anti RSD day treat, I will have the rest of the T.R.A.C. lyrics transcribed and posted later tonight, to add to the Winning lyrics done by James.

RSD
Really Sad Day.
It is in a lot of ways now isn't it? I queued for hours a few years ago when the Mag 7 singles were released. By the time I got to the front they had gone. Having queued so long, rather than getting nothing, I finished up buying a Gorillaz album which was the last copy they had of that, so I just felt bad that I had wasted someone else's time behind me that had queued for that. Yesterday morning I got an email from Eil.com saying just in, the Joe Strummer RSD single. Clearly the day has mutated into something else now. I just buy anything I want off eBay now, can't be bothered to queue.

Anyway, looking forward to the lyrics!

And if this was the "Entering a New Ride" album, just spell everything out and add "on the ones and twos"

Looking forward to this Chuck. I've tried myself on the Prolific, Nation, and Interaction with decent success.

THE PROLIFIC

You know I write a lot
And I like to dance a lot
I'm into clothes a lot
They fit me like a glove
I make a lot of love

Call me the prolific
Cause I do the lot
Call me the prolific
And I give it all I got

I play music a lot
I get high, oh
Like a missile shell,
I'm hit up above
And I don't need no shove

Call me the prolific
Cause I do the lot
Call me the prolific
And I give it all I got

If you read all night, the telephone
A soapbox sitting this image morning
Sex in the morning
Still in the kitchen
Don't you think of quitting?

I read Don Juan a lot
He had just what I got
We share the same blood
You might know if I didn't interrupt
With my intent to love

Call me the prolific
Cause I do the lot
Call me the prolific
And I give it all I got

I think I know what's what
I sure ain't no robot
Nor am I head turns small
I've built the English dove
Looking for real love

Call me the prolific
Cause I do the lot
Call me the prolific
And I give it all I got

...I used to dance a lot
Used to dance a lot
Well, I don't got
(Stop)

Silent Majority wrote:Winning lyrics, Mick, '83.

We thought we were winning
But really we were losing all along
Losing all along

We had good friends and I have to say
We used them, sometimes lead them astray
We had a chance to say whatever we wanted
And we threw it away

Don't tell me my attitude is wrong
Don't come on like Napoleon
And I know you think your reasoning's strong
But I won't be a witness to your martyrdom
So you can stop strumming that old swansong

We held the lead for the first six laps
But the engine was faulty and the driver collapsed
Down in the pitstops I missed the fuse
We did a quick change and got a whole new crew

We thought we were winning...

But with new wheels came new reasons to be
And the sirens of limelight echoed softly
The air of excess was not easy to breathe
As we raced in the States for the big money

Don't tell me my attitude is wrong...

We thought we were winning...

I felt we were a team
But it seems success can divide ya
So get your backroom boys to work on your schemes
Because we've yet to play the decider

Don't tell me my attitude is wrong...
GONE TO THE DOGS

I watched you
Sit alone in a crowded bar
Your hands would
Shake as you reached for your jar

Your eyes were
Cold and your mouth was sad
You ordered(?)wore there
A short and lit a cigarette

And I never figured out
Just where it was you died
But your life, it is over
'Cos that's us you got inside
Yeah it's all over 'cos that's us you got inside

Things used to
Be so different, not so very long ago
Where have you,
Some feelings that you weren't afraid to show
You lost your emotions with your wife, walked out the door

Now the kids have
All grown up, you don't see them anymore
All your money spent on gambling
And booze

And I never figured out
Just where it was you died
But your life it is over
And it's us you gotta turn/tell
Yeah, it's all over and that's us you gotta tell/turn

Left right home
Top shelf, still on the right
Your dog did
Not even leave the tracks
But if you
Think about
I'm sure that you'll recall
The person
You are now, just visit you at all

RINGMASTER

(1, 2, 3, 4...)

The king of beasts used to jump at my command
And elephants from India would eat out of my hand
Bareback riders would cavort as I struck up the band
Rubbed shoulders with diplomats from some far off land

And although I am no longer the ringmaster,
The smell of animals still hangs in the air
'Time I think of it, it makes my heart go faster
Suppose that part of me will always be there

Conjurative tumblers, magicians and snake charmers
Clowns who had noses and wild mountain llamas
Tight rope walkers without safety nets,
The trumpeter brushed off his everlast

And although I am no longer the ringmaster,
The smell of animals still hangs in the air
'Time I think of it, it makes my heart go faster
S'pose that part of me will always be there

Trapeze artists have saulted up high
The human cannibal shot in the sky
From strum entertainment, all I've befriended
I'm king of a playground of all I've intended (?)

And although I am no longer the ringmaster,
The smell of animals still hangs in the air
'Time I think of it, it makes my heart go faster
Suppose that part of me will always be there

The picked up sticks turns brightly begin to dread

And although I am no longer the ringmaster,
The smell of animals still hangs in the air
'Time I think of it, it makes my heart go faster
Suppose that part of me will always be there

A cloud of sawdust moving away
As we gaze at on a parade

...And although I am no longer the ringmaster,
The smell of animals still hangs in the air
'Time I think of it, it makes my heart go faster
Suppose that part of me will always be there [x3]

A cloud of sawdust moving away...

INTERACTION

Access to information, the media tricks and manipulation
To get the truth of the situation, reject the daily dispensation...
Interaction
Oh, interaction, interaction, interaction
Oh, interaction, interaction

We're told that they have feed inflation
A new day dawning for the nation
Don't accuse down and more frustration
But just forget annihilation
So we believe everything you tell us, really enjoy
The things you sell us, I bet it's full and I'll pray it's diluted
Somewhere the truth has been alluded
Interaction
Oh, interaction, interaction, interaction
Oh, interaction, interaction

Interaction
Oh, interaction, interaction, interaction
Oh, interaction, interaction

Have men tried to curry favor, entice the swig and favourite flavors,
Useless images for us to savor, pad loss fluid and poor behavior
This jingoism, it makes us braver
Religion too, I'll bet it's savior
But just being high up, the truth is graver
Thank you, God, just lift miasma
Interaction
Oh, interaction, interaction, interaction
Oh, interaction, interaction

Interaction
Oh, interaction, interaction, interaction
Oh, interaction, interaction

Access to information, the media tricks and manipulation
To get the truth of the situation, reject the daily dispensation...
Interaction
Oh, interaction, interaction, interaction
Oh, interaction, interaction
Oh, interaction, interaction, interaction
Oh, interaction, interaction...

NATION

Break down

How can you say that everything's alright?
How can you say that nothing is wrong?
How can you say that, us in this country, we're lucky to be here?

How can you say that you're an adviser?
How can you say no money to make?
How can you say, enough of the money, we would not be here?

What's that you say? It's a free country
What's that you say? Everything's fair
But when we talk about law and order we only get the million here

Break down

How can you say that you're a peacekeeper when what you do is making war?
How can you say it's our survival that you're fighting for?

How come no building and technical houses?
How can you put those countries for fools(?)?
How can you say cone in and cruelly(?)?
It's we that are misunderstood

Break down

Don't you know all the perks in the Rover road(?)
And don't you know all about to the Rover road(?)
We would not want to be in the gale
As we feel, we but dilale(?)
I had a job but that don't help, but
Another state's forgot up and go, 'cos
What's the way of the fashion square,
On a one way ticket to nowhere?

Break down

In a state with a population
Give the children their education
What a way to treat the nation
For it's nervous breakdown?

Break down

In a state with a population
Give the children their education
Oh, who can treat the nation
For it's nervous breakdown?

Break down

In a state with a population
Give the children their education
Oh, who can treat the nation
For it's nervous breakdown?

Break down

APPRENTICE

If you are like what I describe, lucky to still be alive
You better clean up that act, or else you won't survive
And if it didn't happen to you so far, you can bet it will
Everyone knows what you are, get your fingers out the till

Soon as you say you gotta make a shake, before your eyes, your dreams are paid
You feel as though you been betrayed, you been so stealthy you're a masquerade
And you think that you got made to play, there's a pile of bills, hate to pay
Your girlfriend charges to get laid, you swap your radio for a blade

But still,
You are only an apprentice
In the crime train

Windcrack, lightning, thunder, rain
Instead of beats a human herd again
A headline read man on the train
Didn't life or death know greater pain?

You got nicked out in the I.D. parade
Come in, get a job as a slave
Your friends would help but they are afraid
To lose the small amount they've saved
You know you stink, but you don't bathe
A filthy midge, you don't shave
Your shoes have seen much better days
Your clothes are dirty, worn with rain

But still,
You are only an apprentice
In the crime train

You want to be an apprentice, get on the ball!

All them drugs, come play bad luck
Your trusted driver rolls his truck
Then, a soldier lay face down in muck
When/where he stood he should have ducked

Get down!

You make a hole in a highrise cave
You steal all your food from safeways
With one eye on the things you crave, the other firmly on the grave
In troubled sleep, you spend your days
A night thru neon-glo, you sway
You did some things that awful bave
That policemen take you in a doorway

But still
You are only an apprentice
In the crime train

From our central interrogation, oh how that answer did profess, as your screams appears to blue, a group and beer or brew,(?) they got you to confess
Then you waste your time inside, at least you got somewhere to hide
Forty, thirty, twenty-five
Twenty more days till you get outside, yeah, twenty more days!
Take forty three and forty three, eh, soon you can resume your ways
Got to earn a dishonest wage, things you learn one foot away
And have a chance to make them pay, a matter of time before you slay
It wasn't a brother's group they'd say, to become blessed you would hope and pray

No longer
An apprentice
In the crime train (x4)

DU CANE ROAD

I went down to Du Cane Road
to visit a friend of mine
he was doing what a field cub had
he said he served his time
he looked at me, and I agreed
I could see his soul was crying (crushed?)
that's the penalty he had to pay
for some dodgy cocaine laws

so now that I'm protected
from a man who left for broke
time inside has ruined this guy(?)
it would almost be a joke

rules are made to be broken
someone said the other day
we don't create the laws
but it's us that have to pay

so now that i'm protected
from a man who's left for broke
if time inside had ruined this guy's?
it would almost be a joke

soccer team takes its pleasures and all are satisfied
set, the lonely prisoner, waits away inside

so now that i'm protected
from a man who's left for broke
if time inside had illumined(?) this guy's?
it would almost be a joke

as I went down to Du Cane Road...

THE BOTTOM LINE

'2, 3, 4, 1, 2!

Oooh, aahh!
A to z, that flies do send(?)
Nine times flat, you to go away
Concord living filled with squall
Don't you never see tomorrow

So, when you reach the bottom line
The only thing to do is climb
Up and up the way you saw
Anything you want is yours

Oooh, ooh, oooh, aaah!

So many lies, so much deceit
Though you never miss the beat
Your emptiness was so ignorant
What you found was not quiet complete

So, when you reach the bottom line
The only thing to do is climb
Up and up the way you saw
Anything you want is yours

Oooh, aahh!

Punishers and the witches came(?)
Praying that you stay the same
Keep them company, newly casted
Screaming "rage," falling, splashing

So, when you reach the bottom line
The only thing do is climb
Up and up the way you saw
Anything you want is yours

When you're lost, in transformation
You have chose your destination
Have your fun, against the odds
Just so you know, there are no gods

So, when you reach the bottom line
The only thing do is climb
Up and up the way you saugh
Anything you want is yours

EUROSHIMA

as the lights went out in Alabam'
a fire broke that was retro grad
there was a public statement that said negotiations had gone bad
there's been a war blitz
there's been a big mistake
you had the last sake
it's coming down

so, we climbed into our cardboard boxes
in the basement under the table
while a straight mile down into the parliament they say the situation's stable
that it's a war game
and it's the one minute
baby, give me all you can't
it's coming down

Euroshima...

Euroshima...

as the wrong undergrad was there, but so was the state of Minnesota
you wish somebody could use that power
it's in England, North Dakota
that it's a war fort, I think we have it meant
and I don't know what they do with all the slaves
it's coming down

meanwhile on the homestate, we leave all to stay here
crowds and these to beaches
crash and you don't care
'cos it's a war game, and a silhouette
that's the big pacific date
well, that's coming down

Euroshima...

Euroshima...

the eagle was made by slander,
in fact it's burning to the red
what's been exchange in anger's left everybody dead
'cause it's a war zone
stand instead (?)
like you know (??? ???)
it's coming down

the wind that blew the full off
which blew off threw the air
the river's filled of clothing, dishes
I said fill one out, clumsy care (?)
'cos it's a war bent
we are the missile bait
tell me, is this fate?
that's coming down

Euroshima...

Nice!

In 'The Bottom Line' I think 'away you soar' makes more sense than 'the way you saw' but they both make sense
