Did anyone here go in The Globe while BAD II were running it?

Several years after the album's release, I found myself in there, by chance, late one Sunday night. I don't remember it as anything other than the kind of no-frills late-night drinking den of which I have been in many.

It's still going, I believe.

Surely Teddy B must have been?

I guess I was merely trying to establish whether they did actually ever switch on the strobe? It didn't feel like it was going to be switched on imminently when I was in there?

Interestingly who was the crowd that went to the globe as i would always read all write ups about the band and I would have definately turned up myself if i knew about it. Knowing how much i searched for info and never allowed info to get past me on the band, it makes me wonder who would have known about it.
I only found out about it after the event. Even in the song lyrics i never for a moment thought it was a real place that they ran themselves.

I do remember however that they always had a club scene with DJs going on after the gigs so would they include that as the Globe as apposed to a stationary venue ?

Like I said, I never knew about it at the time. I simply thought 'The Globe' was being used in the song as a metaphor (better word, someone?) for inclusion and embracing diversity.

For many years there was a Globe album promotional poster (perhaps signed?) on the wall of Rough Trade on Talbot Road. I would have gone in there and noticed it on many occasions, without knowing the actual venue was a couple of minutes walk away, on the same street!

They toured more extensively at times than Sony would have liked. BAD II kept touring the world with U2 when the record company wanted them back in the studio. I don't know if Esmark' site has everything, but they toured pretty much non-stop from Fall '91 until the end of '92, then more sporadically through '93 and '94, then heavily again in '95.
I don't think I have anything... missing loads.... :meh:

Surprisingly few songs from Higher Power and F-Punk in this set-list? Further adding weight to the argument that post- Letts/ Williams/ Roberts/ Donovan BAD should have been a seperate entity with a new name?

I had figured C'mon Every Beatbox made a return in this era because of the US TV appearance seen on You Tube, but Union, Jack was a surprise. Also interesting that they are still doing City Lights this far down the line.

I had alwaysl thought Radio Babylon would be a cool record to come on to...
