what can i said ? That was the 80's...
Tighten up (the track) in the opposite (still) works perfectly
and battle of the saint road got something too
i pretty like rock non stop too but the rest...
I get the idea to (re)work or (re)mix 7 years few month back i may (re)think about that one of this days
And "much worse" is one the 3 best track from this period to me

A little I think. "Mr. Walker Said" needs a complete remix in my opinion as the orchestral synth sound is way too loud and drowns out the guitar. Still managed to get more bass on the drums and highlight the guitar slightly.Heston wrote:Haha, I haven't listened yet but I hope you've worked some magic on those pots and pans!Marky Dread wrote:It's all your fault!Heston wrote:Looking forwatd to this, a vastly underrated album in my opinion. The problem with that song is the drums (especially the snare) are louder than everything else.Marky Dread wrote:A little I think. Re: Tighten Up Vol. 88 Remixed
I found that the synths are mixed slightly louder than the guitar and that kills off the vibe for me. It's a shame because it's a great song. Speaking of "Mr. Walker Said" on the demos there is a completely different song with that same title any idea if it's just wrongly titled or it was originally another song altogether? I got my info from the BAD Files.Heston wrote:The problem with that song is the drums (especially the snare) are louder than everything else.Marky Dread wrote:A little I think. Listening to this right now. It's been so long since I've played the original version that I can't identify changes/improvements (tho I don't recall the trumpet sounds in "Mr. Walker Said"), but it sounds great to my ears. As well, man, this is a better album than I remember. A drop from the greatness of the first two BAD albums, yes, but it's still pretty damned solid.

I've been playing it a fair bit this week and it is very underrated. Just a bit more pop than it's predecessors.Dr. Medulla wrote:Listening to this right now. The drums were the biggest problem then the guitar being buried in the mix and it's a shame as there is some great playing by Mick.Heston wrote:Muchly enjoying this. Guitars seem louder in places.

It's definitely Mick's most POP album, just chock full of tunes. Such a shame the mix loses any firepower with the low guitars and mechanical drums. The Bradford 88 concert shows what a great live band they were at the time, shame that was never captured on the album.Marky Dread wrote:The drums were the biggest problem then the guitar being buried in the mix and it's a shame as there is some great playing by Mick.Heston wrote:Muchly enjoying this. I doubt we'll ever get a reissue from Sony. They should fire out a big ghetto blaster box set like SS as it seems only fitting for such an inventive band.Heston wrote:It's definitely Mick's most POP album, just chock full of tunes.
