I was getting it as recently as 4 days ago. Graham last logged in on IMCT less than a week ago, so if it's anything more than a temporary blip he's still around to tell us.biopunk wrote:Nope.vrouwenverwarmer wrote:It doesn't work anymore?

Does anyone know if BMC has made a reappearance? I'm going through some serious withdrawals without it...
BTW, long-time lurker, first-time poster here. EET Week compelled me to post!

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Re: blackmarketclash.com back up
...and note the announcement on the homepage that the BMC book is likely coming out by end-2015. With the little page mock-up shown on there. He doesn't have many more shows to update with expanded reviews, news clips, and punter comments before the whole live history of the band has been fleshed-out to the max and it's fully ready for the coffee-table treatment. That'll be an absolutely essential purchase.
And probably achieve a broader audience beyond just Clash obsessives because that's never really been done before with a band of considerable tape-trading heft. I think people will be interested in it just to see the web/print fusion and the treatment of the subject as a test bed for other artists, not necessarily because the audience for grubby Clash audience recordings is so vast. At least, speaking as a book editor by chosen profession (textbooks, not trade publishing) I've got keen vested interest in the business model aspect of it and the fact that this is a project born web-first. Getting a handle on print/digital fusion is a huge uncertainty for the publishing industry, as is interest in new DIY treatments that embrace the niche fragmentation of reader interests instead of lamenting it. I know those considerations influence my choice of freelance projects these days I do to pay the bills. So this is exactly the kind of thing that piques the attention of people in the biz, even when it's a small effort like this. Which is why I think it'll gain some currency with the crit-lit crowd who themselves have a vested interest in changes to the business model in this period of downsizing, fragmentation, and blurring of lines between print and digital. There's a little more going on about the product itself than simply a narrow-casted Clash thing.

Bump.
So is the BlackMarketClash site gone as a dedicated web site, or is it just on FaceTweet or whatever?
