I still think Barry Manilow had the best rhyming couplet ever when he rhymed "Bermuda triangle" with "Look at it from my angle."

Heston's mother never bought him a synthesizer because she wasn't friendly with Phil Oakley. ;)

Oh yeah, that's the rhyme of the century by the Undertones.

Am thinking of popping along to this if I'm in the clear saturday morning, could have worse days than listening to the old crew telling their old war stories I reckon.
Cool wish I was well enough to attend.
What's wrong?
Unable to walk very well due to having extreme gout. I have had steroid injections in my ankles and I've been off work this past 4 months. Medication failed and I'm slowly being weaned onto some meds I had previously 20 years ago. All sent to try and all that.
Hope you feel better, MD. Get out, gout.

Shit Marky I didn't know that so sorry to hear. A good friend of mine also suffers from it and he has told me how painful it is.
Hope the meds work.

Sorry to hear that mate. I get a little touch in my big toe every now and again and its the most excruciating pain. Keep off the Port and Cheese. At least the time off work allows you to work on the remasters ;) Every cloud etc etc

Sure thing. Oh and I would love some port and cheese. I've been virtually teetotal for the past 14 years.

Ugh, rhyming "prison" with "prison." So close to being a good line.
You're never going to be a Black Flag superfan with that attitude.
I was trying to think of another example and only know of one off the top of my head:
I walk these streets
A loaded six-string on my back
I play for keeps 'cause I might not make it back
:shifty:
Was listening to S! this morning and was reminded of this as well:
But on the drummers face, there is a look of dread
As he drums away 400 years of dread

I thought to myself, "Joe is such a wordsmith, but this is a crime Bruce would never commit." Until I remembered,
Don't turn me home again
I just can't face myself alone again
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

On the brightside only two of your heroes let you down today

I think the Bruce example is acceptable. It doesn't seem to be so much about rhyming as about expressing an emotion or telling a story. Repetition is very effective if it's done well, I think.
