As an american I rather liked the context of the times to give it some extra significance.white man wrote: ↑17 Mar 2020, 7:11pmSure i've got a "Clash bits" only edit of that.Low Down Low wrote: ↑14 Mar 2020, 6:49amWill have to give that another watch. As an Englishman who lived through it I would rather not be reminded. But I get the need for context.Kory wrote: ↑19 Mar 2020, 1:15amAs an american I rather liked the context of the times to give it some extra significance.white man wrote: ↑17 Mar 2020, 7:11pmSure i've got a "Clash bits" only edit of that.Low Down Low wrote: ↑14 Mar 2020, 6:49amWill have to give that another watch. As a Clash fan it's a shame valuable early footage of the band rehearsing and playing live is cut with boring 70s life.
The problem is that some of those images had already been used in Temples "Filth and the Fury". I wonder what other footage Julian has. It would've been nice if just the Clash footage was included as an extra on a dvd or something.

Took bit longer than it should for me to figure out what was going on there. Brain is mush today.101Walterton wrote: ↑28 Mar 2020, 6:02pmI didn’t even click first time I saw that pic I thought it was another one from the same shoot

I think this is new on me but may have seen it years ago. A lot of the interview is obscured by the translator but Joe seems demented.

Japanese doc on RAR. Looks interesting. I'd love to see a subtitled version. Topper interviewed too.

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Re: The Clash observations thread.
Car Jamming wins most improved Clash song for me. Had it on last last few nights and I can't resist belting out that chorus now. Took a while though, like Sean Flynn, it never warmed to me much on the first few listens.
