I might just choose CTC as the first CD I spin when I get home. Just for the hell of it.
It's funny. I used to HATE CTC, but in this age of Clash hype, it gets a lot of spins--I think because it's a CD only the hardest core of fans could appreciate. I mean, it's a damned fun listen despite its utter crapitude.
Hmm, enough doom metal for today, CtC is going for a spin.
It's the only Clash album that makes me laugh.
I get a laugh out of Red Angel Dragnet, but other than that, I agree.
I laugh at Crooked Beat too. Oh Simmo vocals.
But yes, CTC is consistently unintentionally hilarious.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
