My best guess is they planned on playing it, but Mickey's injury put a wrench in it. I always assumed too Let's Go Crazy never lasted cause they couldn't make it work without him.appleseed1 wrote: ↑09 Sep 2022, 9:08pmCompletely agree that Up in Heaven should've been in every set after it was written. I love that song. It's a mystery to me why it wasn't a standard.SuzukiSamurai wrote: ↑08 Sep 2022, 9:43amThat really irks me that there isn't a recording of it. Up in Heaven is one of those songs that should have 100% been played as a setlist usual during 1981. Thanks for letting me know, I had no idea.River wrote: ↑08 Sep 2022, 2:00amUp in Heaven was played some time in 1980, there's a set that Joe wrote that's in the book Redemption Song that shows it was done.SuzukiSamurai wrote: ↑08 Sep 2022, 12:36amRebel Waltz was said to have been played at the Theatre Mogador on September 23rd, 1981, but sadly no recording is circulating. Let's Go Crazy was played the first night of the Impossible Mission Tour in April 1981 in Barcelona, but sadly the recording is not the greatest. I think that's about all aside from the usual songs played?
I just sat down to sample a bit of Marky's set, and it was the first song I tried after Somebody Got Murdered. (Both sound superb. I'm going to dive in in earnest later tonight. I just couldn't wait and had to try some of my favorites.)

I didn't forget anything mate. I chose the best sounding stuff only.Stefano1972 wrote: ↑09 Sep 2022, 7:03pmhey Marky, maybe have you forgotten Let's Go crazy from Barcelona 27/4/81 in Sandinista live? Of course it's not at the same sound quality as Bond, Amsterdam and Tokyo but it's the only live version we know.
I'll start to listen everything in this weekend.

Yes! The tracks from Bond sound better here than on the double cd from Snotty Snail. Anyway, i add on my personal copy The Sound Of Sinners from the US Festival as ghost track.Marky Dread wrote: ↑10 Sep 2022, 3:11amI didn't forget anything mate. I’ve started to play Sandinista redux also, you did an excellent work, as usual of course.

Cheers! Yes of course you can include whatever you like. I only chose those tracks for sound quality. But mostly I was hoping to only include tracks from 1980 as per the bootleg 7" and 1981 but I had to compromise and use the tracks from Japan and Jamaica with Terry on drums who obviously doesn't feature on Sandinista!. But those two tracks fit pretty good.Stefano1972 wrote: ↑10 Sep 2022, 8:46amYes! The tracks from Bond sound better here than on the double cd from Snotty Snail. So glad I grabbed this in time. I saw it just before I went to leave for holidays and thought I'd download it from the hotel, but I was IP banned from this forum at the hotel for some reason! No mobile reception. Came back home to find I wasn't banned and that it was still available

The guitars are the hardest part to mix. In 'The Call Up" they do sound much better.VLADI wrote: ↑12 Sep 2022, 12:39pmI wanted to say I love the sound of the guitars in Call up, This were I was listening in that moment.Marky Dread wrote: ↑03 Sep 2022, 9:52amThey work good on some tracks but less on others. Sandinista in Dub sounds great! I’ve finished it to listen few minutes ago, on balconi drinking something good and breathing the last warm winds in this night of end summer… it’s wonderful the version of Shepherds Delight (with extract from Version City and Career Opportinities for children). And the Mikey Dread words at the end it’s amazing.

One thing this reminded me is that 'Every little bit hurts' is by far the strongest Sandinista outtake. I may make a version of Sandinista that has that but doesn't have Hitsville

Okay I've finally listened to it all. Great stuff! My favourite is the live album because I just hadn't listed to much live Sandinista era stuff before. It's great to get it all together in good quality. It's good music for the band to ad-lib to live, love it how Joe adds in extra vocals.

The work that you put in for our pleasure is amazing.
Thank you a million times over.
I see on the info sheet Ivan Julian listed.
Is it known which tracks Ivan Julian played Guitar on?
I absolutely love his guitar work with Richard Hell and The Voidiods.
Thank you in advance.
