I fleshed out the Sandinista and Combat Rock sessions based on info from Clash FAQ including what songs Norman Watt Roy played on. I think I captured all of Marky's notes from previous posts on this thread for these sessions.

I still have to review the 77/78 comments from Marky.
Nice one buddy.

I've long suspected that wasn't Paul on CCS, although maybe that was common knowledge. I AM surprised to find it was him on OMT. I'll be less surprised to find it was Mick.

Just popping in to say how cool it is (to me anyway) that Stan Bronstein of Elephant’s Memory played saxophone on GEER, the second New York Dolls album and, more famously, with John and Yoko on record and live. Some of the coolest credits ever.

I don't think Paul played bass on washington Bullet
I'm 99% positive on that
i used to do some remix work on the track and it clearly not his style + it played with no pick only with fingers
Paul may done that on reggae tracks but not on other styles

The source I used was the Clash FAQ book. They provide a list of songs that NWR plays on, so I assumed the songs that weren't on the list were by Paul. I'm also not sure how Clash FAQ came up with that info. I'll see if I can track down the author.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Charlie can't surf and we think he don't
We asked him to but he said he won't
Charlie can't surf for his hamburger mamma
Charlie's gonna be off in his car

Rare unreleased take.

I found Gary on linkedin and he was responsive:
"That was just some detective work on my own. I dug into all the books, magazine articles, interviews I could find and also compiled a list of which Sandinista! tracks were recorded in NYC while Paul was off making a film. I also took into account the style of the baselines and whether they were the type Paul or Mick Jones would've come up with. "

Sounds not 100% definitive.

Added "Once You Know" and "Escapades of Futura 2000" to the December/January Electric Lady sessions.
