You'll be telling me you don't know what a jam sandwich is next.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

As in a police car? I sussed that through context clues in Stereotype by the Specials.

I found our about that from a Fall song, but I can't for the life of me remember which.

Yeah, or "Jam Sarnie", as they used to call them in these parts.Silent Majority wrote: ↑06 Mar 2018, 9:33pmAs in a police car? I sussed that through context clues in Stereotype by the Specials.

The car? learned that from Tom Waits
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

Yeah, that’s a term that I’ve heard in a lot of songs.

"Combatitive" is not a word.
Re: Things you learned through the Clash
Today I learned about the "black Maria" lyric. I always thought it was something like "no need to live like Maria" but I don't really listen to lyrics. And I know the Waits song well and that the song is called "Big Black Mariah", but it does sound like he's saying something like "biggest black rattle."
I'm an idiot.

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Just goes to show you that when I hear songs with vocals, it's basically just gibberish, melody, and rhythm that I hear.
